METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data:
The data collection protocol is described in the related publication: "Quantification of the development of trunk control in healthy infants using inertial measurement units"

2. Methods for processing the data:
Processed data was obtained from the Qualisys proprietary software, which collated the raw data from the Kistler force plates and Qualisys motion capture cameras, and from an Xsens MTw Awinda IMU. Details about data processing can be found in the original manuscript.

3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data:
All scripts have been tested in MATLAB R2019b. Data is stored in '.mat' files and the processing script are in '.m' format.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
This folder contains the data selection script, the figure generation script, and data from the experiment used to analyze infants' movements during quiet sitting.

Below is the folder directory with filenames and brief explanation of the purpose behind each file.

1. 'dataSelection.m' file
- Running this script automatically loads the sub-folder of data, selects the data used for analysis, and computes outcome metrics and statistics
2. 'dataProcessing.m' file
- Running this script generates the figures present in the associated paper
3. 'TSx.mat' files (x = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- Contains the processed data for the analysis of the IMU metrics (jerk, acceleration, and angular velocity) and of the force plate metric (COP velocity)
4. 'Figure S1.png' image
- Supplementary figure of the RMS of jerk for different 30-second segments. These segments were chosen as the segments with the three lowest RMS of angular velocity.
