********General Introduction********
This dataset contains data collected during selective electrochemical desorption at Wageningen University & University, as part of Yong Jin's PhD thesis project (November 2021):
doi:
It is being made public to act as supplementary data for publications and the PhD thesis of Yong Jin, and other researchers are being asked to use this data in their work.

The data in this dataset was collected in the Environmental Technology laboratory of the Wageningen University & Research, between November 2021 and December 2025.
This research project was made possible by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) grant.

********Purpose of the test campaign********
These experiments aimed to develop a proof-of-concept approach integrating GAC into a cathode configuration to desorb sorbed carboxylates.
The data shown in this file can validate the efficiency of tandem activated carbon sorption and electrochemical desorption.

********This dataset contains the following files:********
PHA to VFA.xlsx - the first sheet "pH": pH variation during sorption and electrochemical desorption processes;
                  the second sheet "Catholyte data": the concentration of carboxylates in the catholyte during the sorption and desorption processes (in g/L);
                  the third sheet "n-caproate transfer": the amount of n-caproate transferred in different phases during the sorption and desorption processes (in grams);
                  the fourth sheet "Anolyte data": the concentration of carboxylates in the anolyte during the sorption and desorption processes;
                  the fifth sheet "Selectivity": the calculation of carboxylate selectivities during the sorption and desorption processes;
                  the sixth sheet "pH_PZC": the test of pH at the zero point charge of the applied activated carbon in this study;
                  the seventh sheet "Current": the electric current variations during the electrochemical desorption processes;
                  the eighth sheet "n-caproate amount": the calculated amount of n-caproate in different phases during the sorption and desorption processes;
                  the ninth sheet "C2-C4-C6": the calculation of acetate, n-butyrate, and n-caproate distributions during the sorption and desorption processes;
