This video explores the use of local & natural botanical fragrance in the context of a contemporary traditional artistic practice. The natural fragrance is made using local plants, flowers and herbs in harvested rain water and then used for traditional gilding with shell gold. It explores the way materials can add to and aid towards making more circular and sustainable art. The video format is an interview with Elma Hogeboom, a fine artist associated with the King's Foundation: School of Traditional Arts, which took place in August 2024 at the Garrison Chapel in London during an exhibition.
